Ways to work with us

Founder & Clinical Director
Hi, I’m Nora.
I started Inner Compass Psychotherapy because I believe people deserve therapy that takes the time to understand them.
In our work, I pay attention to what you say and also to what has been hard to say.
I draw on psychodynamic, relational, and attachment-based thinking, along with EMDR, IFS, and somatic approaches when they fit.
I’m glad you’re here, and I’d be glad to hear what brought you.
Nora Katz, LCSW #112300

“I highly recommend walking alongside Nora in your journey of well-being. She is a thoughtful, effective, warm and caring clinician who has a natural ability for therapy.”
“I have had the pleasure of working alongside Nora in two different consultation settings over the past few years, and she persists to be a singularly honest, genuine, curious and thoughtful mental health practitioner and colleague.”
Our therapists
Inner Compass Psychotherapy is a group practice. Each therapist brings her own training and focus, and in your free consultation we help you find the one who fits.
Why a group practice
A practice, not a list of names
Inner Compass is built so that no one does this work alone: not you, and not your therapist.
- Your therapist has a licensed clinician behind them.
- Each of our associate clinicians meets with Nora Katz, LCSW, every week to talk through their work. So when you see an associate, an experienced licensed clinician is also thinking about how your therapy is going.
- We think about your care together.
- Every week our clinicians meet as a team to talk through their work and coordinate care. The meeting opens with a check-in on how each of us is doing, because clinicians who feel supported bring more steadiness to the people they see.
- We match you to a person, not an opening.
- In your free consultation we listen for what you are carrying, the language you want to speak, whether you would rather meet in person or from home, and the hours you can actually make. Then we suggest the clinician who fits. If the first match isn't right, we help you find who is.
- You'll know what it costs before you book.
- Sessions are $145 to $275, depending on the clinician and the type of session. Some of our clinicians are in network with United/Optum, Cigna, or Aetna, and not every clinician takes every plan. Out of network? The benefits check on our Fees page estimates what you would pay after reimbursement. A limited number of sliding scale spots are available.
“It is a joy to be hidden, and a disaster not to be found.”
